“Life is for the living.
Death is for the dead.
Let life be like music.
And death a note unsaid.”
― Langston Hughes,
I often wonder why people commit suicide when the thought of death is something that scares the heart. But then I realize that it’s not death itself that frightens us, but how we die because there are a million ways to leave this crazy world. Yes! I know this world is crazy, at the same time there are patches of beauty buried within, and when death comes everything is still, and I think for a while the world is just blank.
We hear stories about the world beyond, its dark little secret, lonely and grave silence- a place where all that is forgotten is unburied and made to sting the heart of its owner. And yet I wonder why some people are so quick to leave for this place- where some are certain that it exist, and some are sure it’s just an illusion, leaving the few others to be caught between.
Bravery is what makes a person takes his/her life, a kind of bravery that no one knows only him/her- a bravery where many unanswered questions lies beneath the heart. And so I finally concluded within me, that there a lot of different people around the world- people who cry in their closet and tell the world they are fine, people who cry aloud to the world and are either embraced or quickly judged, and in all these thought there are others who have the strength to hold on and not give up. We all have our weakness within, the monster that burrows its way either swallowing one or struggling with the others.
